Davenham (10:1) Holmes Chapel

Hill Reaches a New Summit as Davenham Dish out a Perfect 10!

Davenham Dynamoes (10:1) Holmes Chapel

(Kennerley (3), Kirkness (2 ), Hill, Heawood, Whitney, Rogerson, Burrows)

The Davenham Machine rolled on with their 9th consecutive league win of the season and a comprehensive victory against a spirited Holmes Chapel side. Captain Hill provided a man of the match performance leading the midfield by example with uncompromising midfield power play to ensure a record win for the Mid Cheshire Maestros.

Player Review

(1)    Louie Hamilton-Greenwood With play often not reaching the Davenham goal, Louie remained alert between the sticks and was applauded for outstanding distribution, bringing his fullbacks and wide men into play well with quality throws and when varying his kicks found the front men with huge clearances. (rating 9/10)

(2)    Danny Full Force Forster  - Uncompromising defending; Once more didnt put a foot wrong and provided excellent passing down the flank. (rating 9/10)

(3)    Big Sam Antrobus One of the most improved players of the season. Provided a disciplined performance and always looked to play football and pass the ball out of defence. Never beaten at the back (rating 9/10)

(4)    Buzzer Burrows Used his football brain to good effect, shoring up the central defence. Scored an absolute wonder goal dribbling from his own six yard box, breaking at pace before slotting a superb finish past the Holmes Chapel stopper. Pushed Sammy Hill all the way for MOTM (rating 10/10)

(5)    Matty Stitch Took a turn in defence and played some lovely football, demonstrating his usual great footwork. Moved into central midfield and was involved in late goals claiming an assist (rating 9/10)

(6)    Georgie Wadsworth Unlucky with a disallowed goal and later went very close with a strike inches wide and one saved well by the Holmes Chapel keeper. As per usual chipped in with an assist. (rating 9/10)

(7)    Sam Hill A Man Mountain of a performance, dominating midfield and thumped in a peach of a first goal (rating MOTM 10/10)

(8)    Luke Whitters Put in another top display and complimented Hill well in central midfield. So close with several quality strikes, before showing great technical ability to loop a goal over the stranded Holmes Chap keeper. (rating 9/10)

(9)    Joe Magic Heaword The little magician was always looking to get on the ball and beat defender after defender. Unselfish wing play and was quite rightly rewarded with a superbly executed goal. (9/10)

(10)Alex Sweet Left Lonsdale so comfortable on the ball and with great left flank play demonstrated why he is so important to the Davenham cause with his total football approach (rating 9/10)

(11)Sniffer Rogerson An all energy display, running riot down the right wing. A very confident display and an outstanding goal, showing awareness and composure to round the keeper for a well deserved 8th goal of the season. Lets also not forget two fine assists too. Pushed Sammy Hill all the way for MOTM (rating 10/10)

(12)Hazzer The Hitman Kirkness Gets stronger by the week and really is the Davenham Guvnor. Two more goals and also pitched in with an assist. (rating 9/10).

(13)TJ Kenno Still struggling with a nasty chest injury, the Davenham Talisman played just 20 minutes. Managed a hatrick though, before retiring to the bench. (A lucky escape for Holmes Chapel!!) (rating 9/10)

(14)Chris Drinky Great sportsman, covering every inch of the pitch with a very unselfish display providing two assists.

Interviewed after the game, football legend John Whitney remarked, another great footballing display from Davenham. Very pleasing to see the boys play such nice pass and move football. Not sure I wouldve lasted in this team!

Assists: Rogerson (2), Drinkwater (2), Kirkness (2), Whitney, Wadsworth,  Stitch

MOTM: Hill

Clean Sheets: Forster
