As we know when the nights get darker and the weather colder, the idea of getting up earlier to set up the pitch etc, is not so appealing.
I suggest we organise a simple rota on this task, to allow Alan time to prep the lads and Chris to do the Admin etc.
All this involves is arriving 15-20 mins earlier on the day to set the pitch up for home games and then staying to the end to put them away.
I am happy to volunteer to pick up the 6th Sept Match, if we can have volunteers from parents especially Dads then I can set up a rota on the forum. I suggest 2 parents as responsible per home match.
Thanks Tim, I've also asked Chris Dilworth if he wouldn't mind helping out this week - as it's a new venue etc.
The goals, corner flags and cones etc are currently stored in the garage behind the cricket club and it sounds as if they will have to be collected from there every week. I'm hoping that Alan can do this in his van!
I'm going to attend a Managers meeting tonight, to ensure that I know what we have to do with the paperwork.
I may not be around on Saturday, as I've got to go in to work (a project I've been working on for the past 6 months comes to a head on Saturday.) If so, I'll leave detailed instructions as to what needs to happen with the paperwork. I'm also away the following weekend with work, so it's good to see that there's some support out there!
When I get back, I fully expect to take my turn with setting the pitch up. Put me down for 20th!!
as some of you know I work on saturdays and will very rarely make it to any saturday games. If i can make it to a game i will contact whover is on the rosta/rota and fill in for them, if thats ok. i can help out in the week whenever possible.
Happy to take my turn on the rota for pitch set up. That is of course if the women-folk are allowed to do such tasks!! As you know Paul works every Saturday so I am the Quinn parent representative at all matches (probably just as well!!).
We'll have to hold an extraordinary general meeting to discuss whether we can allow the fairer sex to touch the goals.....no seriously any help will be appreciated!! Thanks Helen!
